Having left the RAF and moved to Sheppey, 7 years ago on a bleak winters afternoon, as a stranger to the area, I walked through the red gates to be greeted by our great clubs ground namesake, Mr Alf Stupple. Little did I know the journey this encounter was going to take me. I was advised of the training times and enthusiastically encouraged by this gentleman to attend training that week.

The welcome was exceptional, and before long I was part of a great group of people who not only welcomed me to the club but also the local community, this offered my young family and I a fantastic base to start our new life here.

Throughout my seven years here I have had the privilege of playing for and captaining both the second xv and now the first team.

Now, with a young, social and ambitious team both on and off the pitch I feel the future is looking great. Personally I am focused on the success of not only the first team, but also the development team, and also our thriving junior section, after all, they are our future.

I am proud to be part of this club and I would encourage rugby fans, players and our community to come and visit. I guarantee the club has a magnetism that will leave you wanting more!!

I cant wait to see the next new face walk through the gates so that I can welcome them, and perhaps we will have another potential first team captain, because if I did it, anyone can.
