I am pleased to be able to report that Sheppey RFC have secured the services of Peter Olliver as Head Coach from next season. Last night the Strategic Committee met to hear Peter's ideas, vision and plans for next season and beyond - and to ask him some probing and challenging questions. The Committee is confident that Peter will build on the excellent work of Frank Davis as Head Coach. Frank is still very much the Head Coach and will remain as such until after the final game of the season. Over the past 3 years it is the committee's view that Frank has nurtured  the squad to a point of being serious promotion challengers next season and with a good chance of winning further silverware at County level. We are deeply grateful for Frank's stering work as Head Coach and it is no coincidence that he has developed such a strong team spirit and squad ethos and got us to a point where we can plan the next phase of our playing development.

The Committee is of the view that Peter has the experience, ideas and enthusiasm to build on the firm foundations of Frank's work and to develop the playing and coaching capacity of the whole Club.  It is essential that Frank is allowed to carry on until the end of his tenure without distraction and that the subsequent transition is as smooth as possible. It is out of respect for Frank that no further publicity will be made on this subject until pre-season.
Players can be assured that the Committee will monitor the new regime carefully and will establish clear communication lines to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the change. It is the Committee's role to take actions that will benefit the development of Sheppey RFC and we are delighted to have secured the services of Peter from next season.
