heppey’s Youth Academy’s skipper, Matthew Golding has been selected for the County Under 16 squad.
After passing through 3 rounds of trials, Golding, 15, was informed of his selection last Thursday. The Borden pupil, who has played for Sheppey since the age of 7, has County training on Wednesday to see if he can be selected for the actual match side against Surrey at Charlton Park next Sunday.
His coach and father, Neil Golding, said proudly, “Matthew really deserves this as he has worked hard over many years and this will give him the boost to push on from here. It is also a tribute to his Sheppey team-mates who have all worked hard to support him.”
