THE 1ST XV WIN THE LEAGUE WITH 4 GAMES REMAINING!!!!

The 1st XV faced Hastings and Bexhill RFC at the weekend, a win for the islanders would secure the league title.

Sheppey got off to a quick start with an unconverted try which shocked the home side who were confident of an upset. This shock was deepened with a converted try moments later. Sheppey had most of the possession in the 1st half and kept the scoreboard ticking over with numerous penalties leaving the half time score 3-21.

The Second half was almost a carbon copy of the reverse fixture last October with Hastings having much more possession and out scoring the visitors in the second half. Sheppey's second half performance was littered with errors and lapses of concentration, maybe it could be blamed on what the final whistle could bring. The islanders held firm though and the final score ended 13-24.

Job Done....

18 games unbeaten in the league and a league title secured.

Next up Old Williamsonians, the 1st XV will be looking to extend their streak to 19.
