I’d like to start by offering you a warm welcome to Sheppey RFC and thank you for showing an interest in our club. We have been established for 126 years and I like to think we know a few things about grass roots rugby whilst embracing the fact that we must always be prepared to adapt and learn in the ever-changing climate of Rugby Union.
I have been a volunteer at Sheppey for over 20 years and have been “out there” with youth sections, on a Sunday morning, for all of that time. I have been safeguarding officer, club secretary and, after a short break from the committee, I accepted the position of Chair at the beginning of the 2018 – 19 season.
Not being a local (I was born and raised in The New Forest where many of my family still reside) I have always been appreciative of the warm welcome I have received here and know that we strive to extend that same welcome to anyone who visits us, whatever the duration and whatever the capacity.

We are a club run solely by volunteers and valuing the volunteer is important to us. All we ask from our volunteers, members and our visitors, of any age, is that everyone embraces the core values of Rugby Union: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
I look forward to seeing at Stupple Field in the near future.
Karen Gray (Chair)
